22.01.2007What can you say about The Simpsons that hasn’t already been said? This release of Season Nine shows that, around the halfway mark, they were really hitting their stride – a state that hasn’t really let up since.
Guest voices include the laconic genius Steven Wright, Martin Sheen and U2. Episodes include the classic Das Bus and The Two Mrs. Nahasapeemapetilons and, of course, a Treehouse of Horror.
For a limited time, if you like such things on your shelf, this is also available in limited edition “Lisa Head” packaging although, to our mind, from a distance, it looks remarkably like Season 8’s Maggie packaging.
But hey, there are loads of commentaries, deleted scenes, Easter eggs and, inevitably, a trailer for this summer’s Simpsons Movie.
While we have a soft spot at Three’s A Crowd Towers for Family Guy and South Park, for consistency, quality and longevity, The Simpsons is still king.
DVD extras include: audio commentaries for each episode;
deleted scenes (by episode or available separately); animation showcase; sketch gallery;
The Simpsons House featurette with producer James L. Brooks
