Regulars at Borough Market – or those with a sweet tooth who’ve spotted the distinctive packaging at Tesco or Waitrose – will be delighted to hear that Burnt Sugar are launching an Easter egg.

And yes, of course, it will feature some of their fantastic handmade fudge.

Founded in 1999 by husband and wife team Colin and Justine Cather, Burnt Sugar produces fudge and other classic sweets using traditional methods and pure ingredients. Based on the renowned recipes that Justine’s mother used to make, these revived classics come in large tubs: Burnt Sugar, after all, endorses a policy of Sweetie-Sharing to help with portion control.

The egg is made of dark chocolate (70% cocoa solids) and comes nestled on a tub of Burnt Sugar’s famous authentic fudge.

The Burnt Sugar Easter Egg with Chocolate Crumbly Fudge is available at all Waitrose and selected Tescos from £9.99; Harvey Nichols as well as plenty of fine food stores/delis from £11.99
