Vegas in London

We asked Bell what she thought made this film different from your standard romantic comedy, and she said, "Well what I think is funny is that all the protagonists sort of hate each other. It's a romantic comedy and everyone's sort of ripping each other's hair out.

"It's definitely a comedy, but it's kind of like a naughty version of a romantic comedy because Vegas is involved and frankly if Vegas is involved, then it's naughty."

Of course we couldn't resist asking Bell if she'd ever had a similar experience in Vegas? "I try not to, but I have almost. I think we have all almost died in Vegas at one point, you know what I mean? And yes, I have almost died in Vegas," Bell said, laughing at the thought.

Director Tom Vaughan was there as well and we wanted to know what it was like working with these Hollywood favourites. "They were great actually," Vaughan said. "I met Cameron and Ashton very early on in the process to find out if we all had good chemistry. It's kind of important with a comedy and I think we got on very well. It was important that we all shared a sense of humour and thought the same things were funny."

When asked about the actors' creative freedom, Vaughan said: "I like to think they were under my control, but I allowed them their moments where they could do improvisation and they were both involved in the script process. There were some things in the movie that Cameron and Ashton came up with, some ideas and we both thought 'oh that's good, let's put it in.'”

Vaughan said he had an inkling about their potential chemistry and soon witnessed it after beginning production. "You put them in a room together and they just spar off each other and are very funny together and very competitive with each other.

"We would sit in a meeting room at Fox and have a script session and those guys would suddenly start riffing and all that on a theme and we'd end up putting some of that into the movie. They just had a natural chemistry and I was trying to capture that."
