Three Skincare Faves
02.01.2008I have friends who will spend hundreds of dollars on a pair of shoes for a date but when it comes to skincare they rush off to the nearest Boots and pick up a basic oxidizing face wash for only a little over £3. Those shoes won’t be going on too many dates if this continues. Even if your skin is not acne prone, dull or dry skin can look equally as devastating.
Lush is the first stop to beautiful skin. Lush is unique in that all of its products are extraordinarily fresh and natural. In fact, Lush has shipping restrictions on some of its products because they would loose their medicinal powers in a long shipment. Lush has products for every thing you could imagine in the pamper department- from shower jelly to invigorating temple rub. Quite possibly the best products at lush are their fabulous face masks which are so fresh they must be refrigerated and carry a three week expiration date. I don’t play favorites with my face masks but there are a few that are very special and must be mentioned. Ayisha, which is like having a mini-facial, tightens the skin with witch hazel and contains smoothing rose oil and kiwi. Cupcake, Mischa Barton’s favorite, is for acne prone skin. It smells like chocolate and is made with anti-microbial Rhassoul mud from mountains in Morocco. Lastly, I have to mention Love Lettuce. It contains clays that give skin a deep clean and has a little bit of exfoliate to expose smoother skin. However, since one of the main ingredients is seaweed, which acts as a moisturizer, it sets a perfect balance of stripping the skin of dirt and oil and replenishing it with nutrients. Just shopping in Lush is a great experience. The staff members are incredibly helpful, suggesting products that work with your skin type and allow you to sample any products you wish to try. You will find yourself going back again and again to cover Lush’s wide array of products; they don’t disappoint. www.lush.co.uk
For skin waging a battle with time, there is only one product: Crème de la Mer.
