What's coming up this week and the near future....

Festa!
Part of Amazônia, Young Vic’s biggest international collaboration yet, there are various London-based festivities due to unfold over the next six months, including the community project Festa!. Myths, heroes and legends of Brazil will come to life, flowing onto The Cut, in this performance of song and dance. Led by Brazilian artists from London and Spetaculu of Rio de Janeiro, with over 100 community members from Lambeth and Southwark, the whole family will love it.
Just two performances, so limited availability. 16 August, The Young Vic, The Cut SE1; http://www.youngvic.org or 020 7922 2922

This Wide Night
Crackling with wit and sparkling with hope, This Wide Night is a tender portrayal of two women trying to start again. On release from prison, Lorraine heads straight to Marie’s. They used to share everything inside, but the friendship that once protected them now threatens to smother the fragile freedom they have found. (Also pictured above)
Until 9 August, Soho Theatre, 21 Dean Street W1D; 0870 429 6883

Rain Man
The 1988 Oscar-winning film Rain Man is brought to the West End stage with Josh Hartnett making his debut here as Charlie Babbitt, a self-centred Los Angeles-based car dealer and hustler. Raymond is the elder brother Charlie never knew he had - an autistic hidden away in an institution for most of his adult life. Together, the two brothers embark on a journey which shows Raymond a world beyond the hospital gates and Charlie the meaning of unconditional love.
Previews from 28 August, Apollo Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue W1V, http://www.apollo-theatre.co.uk
