There are millions of pounds being spent on things basketball courts and that's great because we do have a very talented team, but it'd be nice if afterwards those courts could be used by the local communities.

It'd be nice if swimming pools could have discounts for locals and things like that. There are people there who want to go for a swim but can't afford to pay seven quid.

I mean the divide between rich and poor in that area is so apparent and there's loads of investment in that area, but it's actually increasing the divide. There's all this high-cost housing built everywhere alongside some of the poorest boroughs in London.

If you follow the line from Mile End to Dagendham right through to the A-road, that stretch, you can feel it getting richer and richer as you get towards the city.

What I'd really like to see see is someone from the Olympic Committee turning round and saying that these high-quality facilities can be used by local people. That there'll be high quality gyms that they can use.

TAC – You've worked with Nitin Sawhney, Kate Nash and Billy Bragg on this album. Who would you like to collaborate with?

SD - There's always people I want to collaborate with but I'd really like to do something with Damon Albarn. I love the way his mind works. He looks at the obvious and says “forget that” and looks at everything else around it. I love the Good, The Bad and The Queen, there's something really different about that band.

Simon Tong, Tony Allen, Paul Simonon, I'd love to work with. It's an exciting record. I think Tony Allen is a master drummer. If someone asked me “Who do think is good drummer?” I'd say him. If you watch him for half hour he sits right there on the beat and he's light handed and subtle.

And I'd actually like to work with some full on electronica artists like Roni Size, that would be a completely different experience.

- What was it like recording with an orchestra this time round?
