So some songs I write and they stay the same all the way through and make it on to an album. Some songs I write one line and that'll be the only thing that stays.

TAC - Do you feel like you belong to any particular musical movement. Indie press really loved you last time but it seems that emo kids are really connecting with you now

SD – I'm an emo kid, so the fact that they're into me really appeals to me. I love the whole period around 1997 - Rival Schools, Saves the Day, Jets to Brazil, that's what I listen to.

It's ironic actually because the first album was more emo that the second but more emo kids have latched on to this album. I think the next record will be a full on emo record.

TAC – Then you can grow your hair over one eye...

SD – I think I'd do that if I didn't have long curly hair. But the guy from Coheed and Cambria has curly hair and that works.

TAC – He looks kinda like a lion though...

SD – Yeah and plays really complicated tech-metal...so maybe not...

TAC - You've always been a very politically aware artist. Do you think it's important for musicians to have political involvement or awareness?

SD - I don't think that's it's important for just musicians. I think everyone should keep an eye out. Whether or not you want to be actively political or whether you just want to be active by voting is up to you.

TAC - You live in East London now, what do you think about the London Elections?

SD - Well I live two stops away from Barking and Dagenham. The two things I really hope are that Boris Johnson isn't the mayor and that that the BNP don't get any seats in the London Assembly.

TAC
- What would you like to see change in London?

SD - Well I live right by Olympic site. What I really want to see is money spent on community facilities.
