Take That and Party
06.05.2008Never Forget, the new musical featuring the songs of Take That is opening on the West End stage this week and we at Three's A Crowd are so excited we're singing Back For Good already.
Not only because we got to meet the fantastic cast but we are preparing ourselves for a bigger and better version of the show that smashed box office records last year when it went on tour.
The musical, a fictional tale of five normal Mancunian boys trying to make it big, features the fab five's greatest hits sung by a very talented cast.
Dean Chisnall who plays lead Ash Sherwood, is the star of the show as the 'Gary' of the tribute band. Rumours were circulating that this lead role would be taken by more of a celebrity.
This is bound to be a sought after role in the future but for now we're glad Chisnall was picked for the original West End cast as his smooth vocals and charismatic performance is bound to melt hearts.
The rest of the original cast will also have you laughing, tapping your feet and dancing away as they deliver some witty lines and some hysterical moments – including a not unpleasant striptease.
This musical rocked on tour and on DVD so we'll just have to wait and see if this show can do it on the West End Stage

I didnt really know what to make of this.... it had the ingredients to make a good westend musical but i think it lacked substance. The guys are very well cast...the main girls voice is good but not consistant and at times quite out of tune. The guy that plays gary ....his voice is SPECIAL!! LOVE HIM!!!
I dont think this is going to have a very long run and i can kinda see why Take That havent appeared at any rehearsals or shows so far!!
I sound harsh..i give it like a 6.5/10
True to take that and the original routines and song arrangements and the guys are perfect for their parts.
LIke the Back for good scene... the whole water thing was a nice tough...lets see how many of them go off sick with pnumonia or a broken ankle!!! BREAK A LEG GUYS!!! I was actually being nice when i said that!!!
