Take That EMI
14.01.2008Record label EMI have hit back at former Take That singer Robbie Williams who has been threatening to walk out on them.
Executives at the label have attacked Williams and his manager Tom Clark for putting a gun to their head while trying to negotiate.
Williams' eighth studio album is due for release in September. However Williams has vowed to withhold his new album from EMI over redundancies at the company
Tim Clark has said Williams is very close to leaving his £80 million deal with the record giant.
Williams is not the only one thinking of leaving with Coldplay considering other options and Radiohead and Sir Paul McCartney already have split.
Williams' last album Rudebox reached the Number One spot but sales were far below what was expected by EMI and Take That's Beautiful World overtook Rudebox in the UK.
