A Suka-cess
06.03.2008Nasi Goreng is text book stuff, and the Terlagi-Lagi, soft shell crab, is light and pleasantly spicy. It's also a lot of fun to order. Barbeque chicken was just okay – it's barbeque chicken after all– but the Papaya & Pork Belly Salad was fantastic.
Surprise of the lunch was the Tofu Claypot. I've never understood the appeal of tofu before, having figured if you're vegetarian, eat vegetables because they taste nice, are good for you and don't have the texture of a duvet. I'm still not entirely convinced by the substance but tossed with mushrooms, roasted chilli and ginger, this is the best argument yet.
Desserts... well, Asian restaurants are never exactly famous for their puddings, but Kaffir Lime Chocolate Fondant pressed the right buttons, with its elegant chocolate richness counteracted considerably by the sharpness of the lime and the gentle spice of a ginger sorbet. A strong finish to a very good meal and long may the upward curve continue.
