Retail Relief

If you can't fly, at least you can shop

Harrods At Heathrow Terminal 5

Retail Relief

28.03.2008

Heathrow’s Terminal 5, is open but not without an array of problems including baggage complaints and delays.

Today, with 1 in 5 of its flights being cancelled due to baggage handling problems, it seems that shopping may be just the thing to de-stress and pass the time.

So instead of sleeping on that new terminal floor, why not you head into Harrods brand new anchor store, featuring outlets with fashion, luxury travel goods, and Harrod's signature items.

The project of constructing Terminal 5, has taken over 14 years and cost nearly £4.3 billion.

The new terminal has a sleek, modern design and now has a department store to match its style so if you can't fly, at least you can shop in style.

As the world's first airport fashion department store, Harrods has one outlet completely dedicated to fashion and flying in style.

This store features a 'Cruise' section, offering beachwear and accessories and w luxury travel section with goods from Anya Hidmarch, Bill Amberg, and Samsonite Black to name a few.

Also in the terminal is an outlet that features Harrod's signature items and a food hall, while a satellite store will have a more refined variety of Harrods luxury items in a smaller space.

As one of the busiest airports in Europe, 27 million fliers are expected to pass through this terminal and right into Harrod's.

Judging by the chaos that seems to have ravaged the airport since opening day, aggravated fliers at Terminal 5 are in desperate need of some retail relief.

All three of these outlets opened yesterday March 27, 2008 and will be open from 5:30 am to 10:00 pm every day. From Missoni and Fendi women's scarves to Marc by Marc Jacobs or Paul Smith cuff links for men, the store offers a little bit of class amongst the airport chaos.
