This week Three's A Crowd got down and dirty with George Clooney.

Okay not really, but we did shake his hand and talk marriage, Beckham and that good ol' English favourite: the weather.

George was in town with Renee Zellwegger for the premiere of his latest film Leatherheads, which he directed and plays the lead in.

“It's never fun to act and direct but at least you know what the director wants,” he said before telling us he wouldn't be playing the lead in a film he directs again in a hurry.

George also mentioned the effect David Beckham had on the sport saying he was very popular. “It's (soccer) is getting very big in the states.”

Some members of the crowd had a few questions for George themselves, the most common one being: “Will you marry me?” We wondered how many proposals George got a month. “Some are actually relatives,” said George “But I'm from Kentucky so that's okay.”

A purple and gold clad Renee looked lovely, although terribly thin, in her purple Marchesa dress which couldn't have kept the cold at bay.

“He's a little talented,” said Renee about George. “It was not a bad day at work.”

George and Renee have been friends for years with Renee getting involved with Georges charity work. He gave the chilly Bridget Jones star a friendly cuddle to try and warm her up as photographers snapped away.
