Not only is Play.com Live showcasing many of the upcoming games, it's also holding the largest cash prize for any video game competition; Pro Evolution Soccer 2008. The last 50 protaganists are currently fighting it out for the first prize of £50,000, this is also followed by one of the largest Unreal Tournament 3 competitions, with £20,000 going to the DeathMatch winner!

We caught up with some of the players going through to the tournament stages in both competitions. One of the hot favourites, Wallace, in the Pro Evo tournament looked decidely apprehensive going throught the group stages. "I am nervous but it's good to have this nervous energy, I mean the first prize is for fifty grand," he then popped of to play oldboiler another great player in the ranks. Marko, the European number 2, took a lead in his match and looked certain to qualify through the group stages. With the final shown on the main stage, it could be a question of who holds their nerve the best.

In the Unreal Tournament 3 competition, practise was underway, Zaccubus and ex-clan mate (my claim to fame!) looks odds on favourite, however the competition is too tight to call. The tournament is split into Death Match (player versus player)and Insta Capture The Flag(team of five players trying to capture the other team's flag). With the rounds being played today and the final tomorrow the intense competition looks to sort the men from the boys!
