He knew all this because he'd done his research beforehand, he wouldn't go up there without researching it. He knew there was a risk.

3AC: Whilst you were making the film did you keep in mind the last time people remembered the Towers?

JM: No because if I focused on that the film wouldn't be good or turn out the way I hoped. We made sure we didn't include any discussion of what happened to the Towers. I was very aware during the making of this film, people are aware that when they see this film that there's a very strong subtext. There are certain images that are very striking in the film, and people will remember the Towers as two very beautiful buildings. This story is very different to that of the one about the Towers people don't want to remember.

3AC: What's it like witnessing first hand the concentration when the wire is being walked on?

JM: It's amazing. He gets into this zone that's his own little space and just gets on with it. The concentration you witness is amazing. Philippe takes wire walking to another level, he turns it into something theatrical.
