K.I.S.S.I.N.G.
06.02.2008Is there a happy medium for well-balanced, attractive individuals, looking for an exciting way of meeting contenders?
Knowing a vast amount of desirable unattacheds and having already set up several blissful duos (the first of whom are married with a nipper due imminently) and frustrated by the lack of interesting options available to my friends, I decided to start my own gig.
None of the people I know need help getting attention, what they do need is someone to sort the wheat from the chavs.
That’s where we come in. Nicky – my business partner - and I meet folks in a comfortable lounge, nestled in a church cloisters in Kensington; we have drinks and homemade snacks and we chat. Once at ease, we ask a series of questions that are entertaining and, most importantly, revelatory (e.g. if we were to make a film of your life, which famous person, film/tv character would play you?). After whiling away an hour or so, they leave and Nicky and I begin pondering possible pairings.
Once we’ve finally decided who the first worthy candidate is, we’ll find out when they’re both free and then book a wicked place for them to go, either a sensational, independent restaurant, a cool concert, a cutting-edge exhibition or whatever we reckon they’ll enjoy based on the interview.
Does it work? Yes! Of the innumerable dates we’ve organised they’ve all gone fantastically well, except one at the very beginning – which we had a hunch wouldn’t, but against our gut we decided to go with it.
About one in five dates end in long-term romance and the others spark up new friendships. Why does it work? Because we make it fun, personal and affordable, we select on personality not on pocket. So if you’re bored with available options and think you’re interesting enough to sit in our tree, drop us a line and we can moan about Valentine’s together.

Hey, there's a man whose written the 'i heart New york article, whom i believe is still single. Maybe give him a call? Only thing is, there's a reason why he's still single: he likes to put his penis into warm bowls of soup.
