New to the crowded Chelsea scene is the recently launched Valmont Club. Priding itself in being the former home of the Café des Artistes - a popular 1960s and 1970s live music venue and former den of choice of legendary acts Pink Floyd, David Bowie and the Rolling Stones.

However I’m sure that The Valmont Club will be moving more than slightly away from its previous bohemian roots as it opens it doors to the Sloanes, trust fund babies, media barons and investment bankers of Chelsea. Anyway, for those that didn’t already know Mick Jagger went to The London School of Economics.

The Valmont has a lot to offer and really makes the effort to incorporate a bohemian, intimate atmosphere matched with reassuring Chelsea luxury. It is elegantly decorated, from the design team that brought you The Breakfast Club, Soho and Lost Society, the Valmont brings a distinctive New York style to the heart of Chelsea.

The purposeful darkness combines perfectly with soft lighting and neon glow to complement the one off status and antique furniture that are sprinkled throughout. The highlight of the Valmont however is the private service rooms at the rear of the club, where guests can enjoy as much or as little privacy as they want the evening. These private velvet-curtained booths, with individual music volume control and waitress service, offer guests exclusivity that is unrivalled by other Chelsea establishments.

So when you decide it’s time to try something else besides you’re over publicised Boujiis, Movida and Mahiki then this is the place. There’s no signage outside, so you’ll have to rely on spotting the team of earpiece-wearing door staff and the velvet rope to find this place. The Valmont Club avoids the R 'n' B and chart stuff, opting instead for an uplifting and irresistible house music set, with unusual choices and great mixing from their in-house music producer DJ.

With exceptional cocktails, upbeat music and the friendliest staff in West London, The Valmont Club gets everything right, whether it be how many people they let in or the colour of the beads hanging from the ceiling.
