Indulge, don't Bulge
22.01.2008January is over but that doesn’t mean your new year’s resolutions have to be. Eating nothing but lettuce leaves and this month’s superfood can take it’s toll on even the most strong willed so we decided to find three delicious morsels to quench those hunger pangs without breaking any resolutions or waistbands.
Ice Cream - so good for a broken heart and yet so evil on the thigh. Our good friends Ben and Jerry are always there for us when we need a good cry so it is so painful to have to avoid them at all costs when trying to loose that last smidgen of post-Christmas blubber.
Imagine our despair at the Three’s A Crowd offices when a tub of Ben & Jerry’s classic strawberry cheesecake flavour popped onto our desk. However, our despair turned quickly to delight when we discovered this was actually B&J’s new low fat frozen yoghurt in the classic strawberry cheesecake flavour.
Needless to say, it went down a storm. The new healthier option is just as delicious as the fatter option and you get the added satisfaction of not feeling like a giant oaf afterwards.
There are a few lucky people around the world who don’t suffer from CDD (Chocolate deprivation disorder) - a problem as medically viable as Dr Gillian McKeith. It may not be life threatening but it hurts nonetheless.
When I read about the new healthy 'Choxi' chocolate bars from Prestat I was dubious that a) this chocolate would not taste like chocolate at all in an attempt to be healthy or b) would taste fine but have the health benefits of lard.
So in the name of in-depth journalistic research I requested the chocolate in every flavour; plain, orange, mint, dark, milk and took it upon myself to painstakingly test each and every one.
Although the packaging leaves a little to be desired each of these was actually very tasty. So with the taste test passed on I went to discover a little bit more about the benefits of this so-called healthy chocolate.
Two little squares of Choxi will provide all the antioxidants you need for a whole day say Prestat, not bad.
