And it wasn't really about that, but I thought that it might give the wrong impression – so I picked the silliest title on the album, one that thought wouldn't offend anyone.

TAC- Regarding the new album – it's definitely much more straight ahead rock than for instance stuff like Engines of Creation . Why have you gone back to this sound?

JS - Well actually, I should answer that question in reverse. Why did I do that kind of sound in the first place?! Every time I get into music, I'm reacting to a natural feeling, so when I wrote the self-titled album, I wanted it to be un-produced and raw and when I wrote Engines of Creation I just wanted to do it in a new environment, without a studio or a band.

With the new album, I recorded most of the instruments at home and really wanted to concentrate on the melody and try to get across the right degree of thickness and warmth. So there are songs on the album which are slow and melodic like Revelation and Come On Baby, but also others that are just a bit of fun, like Professor Satchafunkillus and I Just Wanna Rock.

And the album ends with a good 15 of soloing – Asik Veysel and Andalusia.

TAC– Did you do that to prove a point at the end? “We've done all the melodic stuff, let's really open it up now"

JS - When you're writing an album, you can't help but be affected by how the record's taking shape.

The last two songs were actually one long 15 minute song to begin with, but then we thought “Are we actually asking the listener to sit through 15 minutes of this without a break?” So we decided to put at least a one second break in there and make it two tracks!

TAC - Are you still in touch with your old students?

JS
- Yeah, I speak to Kirk all the time, we're really close. And of course Steve, who's my best friend.
