From the Red Carpet

High School Musical 3 has already broken the record for pre-booked sales and at the premiere in London yesterday it was clear why.

As the stars of the third in the franchise swanned down the red carpet thousands of screaming fans gathered to catch a glimpse of the cast.

Zac Effron and rumoured real-life girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens were joined by Ashley Tisdale and Corbin Bleu to sign auographs and pose for photographers.

Dancers and Basketball players also entertainment the excited audience as they waited for the young stars to make their entrance.

Although excited about the release of the latest film the stars told reporters that they were sad that they had come to the end of an era.

"It's hard because we love working together and this project is the last chapter for us, but I'm excited to see what the future holds," Tisdale said.

However, this may not be the last chapter as Director Kenny Ortega remained hopeful about a fourth instalment.

"If these kids are still reacting this way after High School Musical 3, I think it would be fun to try to imagine how we would do it for the next generation," he told reporters.

The film is released in cinemas across the UK on 22 October.
