Enter the Eighties

“I’ve got love for you if you were born in the 80s” sang Calvin Harris, and it appears that the catwalks have ‘love for the 80s’ also with catwalk after catwalk of shamelessly bright retro designs. Yes before you ask, 'retro' is perfectly acceptable to be applied here, the 80's were now over 20 years ago and yes that is rather worrying.

Before getting too caught up on our lost youths', Spring / Summer 08 looks set to be ‘like totally’ 80’s inspired, with Miu Miu, Chloe and Balmain all displaying eclectic colour clashing designs. Dramatic and fun, this look is certainly worth getting excited about.

So be gone my pretties, raid that wardrobe, well your parents, aunts, neighbours or cats wardrobe – whoever's wardrobe is irrelevant, just make sure you get the goods and the more authentic the better.

What is relevant however is that, yes those skintight silver leggings are back, as are the neon plastic golf visors, as are the ankle warmers, as are the pink hooped earrings. Think Culture Club, think Madonna and those ‘like a virgin’ days and yes I think you have the picture.
