New York Food
16.06.2008Even though each portion isn't huge after a few dishes we were a lot fuller than we thought we would be.
So there we were, absolutely stuffed. Couldn't eat any more. But then the desserts came. Picture a London tube at rush hour. There is no room but you need to get home so you squeeze yourself in. So let's just say I needed to get home. And there was a pile of warm donuts and cookies I needed to go through to get there. The desserts here are justifiably rather famous so make sure you leave room. That's an order. I couldn't move I was that full but hey, I didn't travel across the Atlantic to stick to a diet.
Describing restaurants is a tricky business. You can sound really gushy or pretentious. So when I was trying to figure out how to describe The Stanton Social I wanted to avoid sounding like that. But I've come up with, what I think, is the perfect description: The Stanton Social is cool. I know. How nineties. But it's perfect. The restaurant and bar is trendy but not in a poncy way. The food is not only really delicious but innovative and interesting. The cocktails rock and it's one of the best places in Manhattan to eat, drink and socialise all in one.
So there you have it. It's just really cool.
