Brit of Alright
20.02.2008It was a night for the bands at the Brit Awards this week as Take That, Foo Fighters and Arctic Monkeys took home two awards each.
Other winners included Mark Ronson as the first non singer to take home the Best British Male Award ever. Ronson also put on a great performance which started with Critics Choice winner Adele and ended with a rather jumpy, but apparently sober, Amy Winehouse.
Winehouse later performed alone and asked the crowd to “make some noise for my husband, my Blake.” It was because of her Blake that Amy was unprepared, missing rehearsals earlier that evening to visit her husband in prison.
It was a big night for Brit school graduates with winners Arctic Monkeys and Kate Nash giving a nod to their former school mates. Nash added while collecting her award for Best British Female: “It’s really important to have arts in education because not everyone is academic and can get into university.”
Brit grad Leona Lewis walked away empty handed despite being nominated in four categories but did belt out a stunning version of her hit song ‘Bleeding Love.’
Kelly and Jack Osbourne joined parents Ozzy and Sharon to present the show. The swearing seemed to be under control until the last ten minutes when the youngest Osbourne had to tell her seemingly increasingly intoxicated mother to “chill out” while Mrs O couldn’t resist telling the Arctic Monkeys to, “Piss off you Bastards.”

Leona was amazing. I'm sorry but Amy is still a bit of a mess. She looked like she needed to pee!
