The kids are more fleshed out than you’d expect, naff moments are kept to a minimum and Swank delivers a powerful but understated central performance. The supporting story, especially the breakdown of Erin’s relationship, also goes off in unexpected directions: this certainly isn’t the rose-tinted tale you might be expecting. A genuinely emotional and inspiring experience.
